Nightreign is purely PvE and offers zero PvP. It's a solo/3 people coop game that is more roguelike with different classes to choose from.
Because it's new and unreleased, so it's pretty much all people can do when describing the game for now.

if you mean those birds that you can hang on too, well thats nothing new and thats not fast travel in MHW. Thats just a zone transition. You dont control where you go too.
Fast travel = between camps.
it depends on wether the good items are far away from the starting point.
the old MH games are battles against time, where you need powerups to proceed solo or play very recklessly to save every second you can.
Solo could very realistically become just like the old MH games if From doesnt adjust it properly. I think we dont know yet wether time progession stops in the boss fights.
