Looking to Increase XP Gain
I'm ad the end of the game right now and my biggest issue I'm having is how long it is taking to get new parties from 0 to 6 level so that I can throw them into the meat grinder that is the darkest dungeon.

I'm looking for a way to increase the experience gained on each quest to help keep me in the game.

Go into the folder campaign -> quest -> quest.json (open with any text editor)

Search for resolve_xp_table

You'll see a series of table entries like this except arranged vertically:

[
0,
0,
0,
0
],
[
0,
2,
3,
4
],

There are a bunch of 0s, ignore those. There should be 3 sets of actual numbers for apprentice/veteran/champion missions, crank up the numbers to whatever you want.

Note that boss missions have their own, more detailed entries elsewhere with specific xp rewards.

Thank you. I had tried that before and it didn't seem to take. After saving it gain it worked this time.

cool thanks bro , i see so many people complaining in other threads that the leveling is already way to fast in this game and needs to be toned down cause the game is too hard , meanwhile im sitting here like 'man this game sure got easy , im getting tired of doing these same kinds of dungeons over again just to do them again some more so i can level up so i can progress in the game and get to other stuff that's actuality challenging like this game was supposed to be' , this should prove to be very helpful for tweaking the game to my liking....

So this is the old like location, since this is from 2016, there has been many updates, so if you want to find the location to edit the Resolve XP in 2018 the location will

E:\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\campaign\quest

now for you it might not be your E drive, you just have to find where you have your steam folder and than follow the rest of the folders as follows above.

when you get into your quest folder the one you will need is

quest.generation.json

than just follow what @geepope says in the comments above. EXCEPT instead of searching for resolve xp table you only need to seach

resolve xp

of course the easiest way to do this is CTRL+f and in the box type resolve xp

Note, if you search for "resolve xp table" nothing will come up
