Editing vanilla hero barks.
So I've been working on a huge project that involves changing every hero and townspeople into my own personal art style and I've decided to try changing some of the barks that the heroes would say. I went into the dialogue.string_table.xml file and started changing some of the strings of dialogue, saved it, and then opened the localization.bat file. When I opened the game to see if the barks had changed, I found out that they didn't and I only got the vanilla barks.

If there's something I'm missing, please let me know because it's a huge letdown to find out that after going through so much tedious work, none of it has been applied to the game.

When you ran localization.bat, did you see "SUCCESS" appear at the bottom of the window before it closed itself? If not, that means that something is wrong with the file that you edited. Maybe you accidentally deleted a bracket or some other symbol and that caused an error. Which means that any changes you made will not be applied to the game.

Try running localization.bat again and see if "SUCCESS" appears.

Fortunately, there was something off with the edits I did after I reverted the file back to the original. Unfortunately, I have to start over because I accidentally did something that completely ruined my edited file but it's good to know that changing the strings do work. Thanks for the help.
