Launch crash. ***FIXED*** (Error involved background program Nahimic.)
Hey guys, game is crashing at launch for me since the latest patch. I verified the files to no avail. I'm on windows 10 if that helps.

***UPDATE***
Ok guys, this one has been fixed for me, it was a specific error involving the audio program Nahimic native on MSI machines. This is not related to other crashes, but if you have the program try disabling it. Thanks to Cancos for solving this for us.

Been trying to get this game to work, been crashing on launch. Tried various things on the Master List and still nothing seems to work....Just bought this game too during the sale.

If anyone has a potential fix or knows a workaround, I would definitely love to give it a shot.

Specs:
i7 Skylake
GTX 980 Ti (Includes all the latest drivers)
Windows 10

Edit: Well I managed to get mine fixed by using the debugger. Discovered that it was some service that runs with my Asus mobo. More specifically I noticed the path came from the following dll

C:\Program Files/asustekcomputer.inc/ss2/userinterface/ss2osd.dll

So I simply saw that it was using something called Sonic Studio 2 that was causing the problem. I remembered seeing this in my system tray and killed it. Fired up Darkest Dungeon once again without using compat win 7 mode or all that other jargon and it worked.

In short, this seemed to clash with something Audio related....and this whole time I was messing with my GPU.

Good luck to anyone else facing this issue

Same: crash since last update : build 879139.
I see Logos and the when I click to start the intro crash.
Win10, checked my integrity, disabled over-lay.

Edit: Still crashing, now on build 881347. See the logo, the intro and when I skip: darkest.exe has stopped working.

Edit#2: It works now, deleted my local content, re-downloaded. Logo, intro, waited for the intro to play out and I got the main menu.
My saved game was still good and I could continue playing.

Unlike 2bad though, I don't even get as far as the logos. Just an immediate crash for me.

Same here, i'm on win7 and the game worked well until the last update.
Now, i see the logos and the prélude begins. But each time i press space bar to acces the main game (same thing if i let the prélude) the game crashes.

Having the same issue. Crashes whenever I start the game, no logo or anything, just black screen. Verified file integrity, redownloaded the game, no changes. Win10 Pro.
I'm also having the same problem haven't found any fixes yet

yeah, i tried all the workarounds on the "master list" multiple times, it just crashes regardless either instantly or at the red hook logo
I tried updating my drivers, re-installing, turning off steam overlay, nothing works

Mine is crashing as well. Did all of the "fixes" in the main thread. I'm on Windows 10. It works fine on my mac laptop. Just bought it over the sale and am thinking of returning it if I can't get it to work... it's a shame since it seemed fun for the 10 minutes I played on my mac.

Same problem here since I bought the game on Monday. The game crash at launch on the logo screen. Tried to update steam. Done, no changes. Two small update from Darkest Dungeon. The problem remain. Windows 7

I have two days I can not play this game when you fix the error? Install the game on two computers, the error is always the same.
