Exe stops working at start up; Windows 10: Fixed! Sonic Studio was causing the issue!

Issue is I attempt to open up the game and before I even get to the logo the EXE stops working. I'm on Win 10, updated my nvidia drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, tried playing while in steam admin mode and no such luck.

The game never not worked for me, all the pervious updates I was able to play just fine. Not sure why the release version would make it finally not work.

I feel like a small update to add since they put up a new hotfix;

Problem still presists. Still unable to play the game due to exe failing at start up.

Yeah. I'm here because of the same problem. Playing on a new Windows 10 computer with NVIDIA card and the game crashes immediately upon start. I think if the game doesn't work on Windows 10 that's something that should have mentioned mentioned on the store page.

The game is working fine even on my rather anemic Intel HD4500 on Windows 10 so it shouldn't really be an issue.

Again if you can please update BOTH your Intel and Nvidia/Intel drivers.

Otherwise please do follow the Master Fixes thread for troubleshooting tips.

I'd especially try running Steam as an admin

Everything is completely up to date on this computer. I literally just bought it and updated everything. This game does not work.

I've updated all my drivers, intel update allowed me to play it once before I had closed it and the exe began crashing again when attempted to open it back up.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both my intel and nvidia drivers to make double sure that I was completely up to date.

I have ran steam on admin, uninstalled reinstalled steam, uninstalled reinstalled Darkest Dungeon over 3 times now with each new hotfix. I have done everything on the Master Fixes list, and the game still presists on not working unless I try fussing with the launch options.

And as of the most recent hotfix, the launch options where I put in the - commands, no longer work to even get the game going for a short amount of time.

The game simply isn't working anymore, and I have done everything suggested in the master list to asking a more computer tinkering savvy person to come in and try to fix it just for this game. As I said before, the game used to work fine before the launch, I do not know why it does not anymore but nothing has worked in a more permant form.

Are you intel driers up to date? I'd actually try bypassing your Nvidia all together and go straight to your intel card. Also update your audio drivers as well.

Same problem. The game doesn't start on my PC (i7 6700K, GTX 980 Ti, Windows 10). I also have a MacBook Pro (15", Mid 2015) and it doesn't work there either. All the drivers are up to date.

win 10, skylake, 980ti, won't launch. But it works fine on my 7 year old not-for-gaming laptop Running windows 7 still on that.
