The Fog of War (or hidden map)
Please hide the layout of the Maps at some point. It would add a 'player strses' where they don't know where the length, layout, or where the objectives may be. Thus dead ends would be more dangerous and torches may be more prominent.

Also, it would have a few nice effects.

It would promote 'Scouting'. It is an subpar ability as a player knows the layout and how many rooms they need to check. Now, not only would it show more of the map layout.

Maps would have a greater value besides showing what is in rooms. They can be a 'Detailed' map[/b] with traps and chests detailed or undetailed, showing only where rooms are.

Some of the players have noted that the boss is easy to find (I don't think that is the case as I've had maps with '4' end points). However with more "Darkness" and "Sight Unseen", perhaps players would find the map more... beneficial.

GOD NO PLEASE NO.

This is a TERRIBLE idea. Knowing the map layout beforehand is the ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE YOU SOMETIMES.

If you don't know the map beforehand, how are you supposed to plan out camps? How are you supposed to judge where the boss might be? What if I walk into a room with 0 torch just on a whim because I think I'll be safe, and then I end up fighting the boss and taking a huge pile of damage because I can't use torches until the RNG picks me for next turn!

Predictability of the boss position is also essential for some runs, especially if you're taking on the area on the left (the name escapes me atm) where traps can cause bleed tokens AND damage AND stress!

I like the idea. If you watched a movie trailer that gives away the ending, then whats the point of watching said movie? lol Fog of war is awesome. Maybe increase the finding a map chance a bit to help.

This has always been a pet peeve of mine when it comes to D&D like-ish RPG's. Your party is asked to go questing in an area totally new to them. Why make it obvious where to go by not including a fog of war?

Well, to be honest, it's because this place WAS known. It's not like this is some random assortment of Ovens you're exploring on the coast of some undiscovered land, this is the old, hollowed out place where you and your family ACTUALLY USED TO LIVE.

Sure there's been some changes and additions to the place, and of course that would add to the convolusion of paths and such, but at the same time you are being given these quests by someone who we assume used to know the mansion like the back of his hand. Only just recently has all the decay, traps and enemies come around. So perhaps it would make sense if you were storming the camps (ie, boss arena) of the enemies, but in an old, well known mansion it doesn't make much sense.

i have to talk this.

yes, diablo is not Darkest dungeon and darkest dungeon is not diablo

still, both have same point. i think only playstyle/game type are different
think about 'Dark background'[diablo 3 is fuxking worst story ever. so only 3 <- forget it]
