The frontline Jester!
Recently the game gave me a jester with the following abilities: Dirk Stab, Solo, Slice Off and Inspiring Tune. Disturbingly this makes him rather ideal in a frontline role.

When paired with a Crusader who has the Holy Lance ability the pair of them can both take the front two spots, taking it in turns to leap forwards if they need to while a pair of more support oriented heroes operate at the back of the line.

Feel free to give it a try and let me know what you think. Does this bizarre jester actually work as a slightly squishy dodge based main tank or did I just have a particularly lucky run with him? Personally I think the Crusader had a lot to do with it.

Yes, the jester is made to be a dodge based front-line character.

Why is this in Feedback & Suggestions though?

Yeah, a few classes have movement skills that make for some very interesting combos. I'm personally a fan of a Highwayman/Graverobber combo, just constant high damage attacks switching back and forth. :)

Well it is feedback isn't it?

Personally I've found the Jester to be most useful sitting in the back singing his stress relief song to slightly mitigate the ammount of incoming stress damage my more experienced heroes are receiving. I've also had alot of mid rank support type jesters who've opperated a similar role to the typical mid rank support grave robber.

As such the front rank combat jester was a pleasant surprise. He helped freshen up the class and make it feel more flexible. Some clases are not very flexible (the lepper, for instance, has no skills that can be used at all from the back two ranks or against the enemy back two ranks). Most have a lot of flexibility.

You can get a trinket that can give 8% protection and 10 dodge and then you can pair it up with a 20 accuracy -1% crit ring. I've been wanting to try tanking Jester for awhile but since monster accuracy goes up with low light, it's best for a 76+ light strategy.

You DO know that you don't have to rely on what skills "the game gives you" right?
You can unlock all their skills and pick and choose any combinations you want for not a whole lot of gold.
You did know this, didn't you?

Who, me? Yeah I knew. It's just that the diea didn't occur to me 'til a jester with that particular combination popped up on the stage coach.

Not exactly. it's also worth checking the date when I originally started this thread. The game had only been out a few days. Back then we were all diving in and learning things for ourselves. Sharing good ideas. That's what I was doing when I began this thread. Sharing a little insight, an option other folk might not have considered.

By this point I pretty much know the game inside out and upside down.
