[BUG] Unable to open game

Hi, I'm on a Win7 laptop with both an intel integrated card and a geforce GTX 670M. I downloaded the the game without a problem, but can't open it. I get an hourglass for a few seconds, then it goes away. I see darkest.exe in task manager for a few seconds before it goes away. Here's what I've done:

Had Steam verify the game files.
Updated video drivers.
Rebooted.
Disabled Steam overlay.
Tried using Windowed mode by adding "-size 1280 720" to startup parameters (without quotes).
Set Darkest Dungeon to use only my Geforce card in the Nvidia Control Panel.
Tried loading darkest.exe directly from the game folder.

My laptop is a Sager NP9150 with an i7 3630QM processor, GTX 670M video card and Windows 7 64-bit OS.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I am incredibly excited to play this game.

Ok so I updated all Intel drivers and I can't get it to run. Could this be an Intel issue? These are my other computers specs.

Your video drivers are ancient. You need to update your video drivers from

www.nvidia.com

Also you'll need to force the game to use your Nvidia card as well. You can do this via the Nvidia Control Panel.

Similar issue. The Red Hook splash screen shows, there is music in the background, and bit of dialog starts. Then nothing. Just stays on the Red Hook splash screen with music in the background.

I had this same problem. I first tried to run my game in windowed mode, but nothing changed. I then disabled the Steam overlay and that fixed the problem. I left the game in windowed mode b/c I prefer it that way, so I'm not sure what would happen if I now undid that change.

OK so disabling Steam overlay and using windowed mode fixed it on my computer. Still have the same issue on my wifes computer. Odd , they have the same video card.

Well this extremely depressing. Was super excited to buy this game when it releases but looks like I wouldn't even be able to play it anyways! At least I don't waste money but this sucks :(

I don't own the game yet, I want to buy it tomorrow. But I have openGl 3.3 on my laptop and it is capable of running a lot of stuff it has no right to run.

However I've had a lot of trouble with games that require opengl 3.1 specifically (Like, ten games so far) and it seems some people had this trouble.

I'm glad to know the devs are working on it since the game doesn't seems too much graphic intensive. (Pardon me if I'm incorrect)

Same problem here. Open the game, it "runs" for a couple seconds, then nothing. It doesn't even run long enough to get a proper debug. Specs below

Help, I can't run this game either. It ran fine for a before the update. After the update, it gets stuck at the red loading screen (with music). It goes:
[Red Hook Screen] to [Special Thanks Screen] to [Intro Cinematics] to [Tips Screen] to [Red Screen with Music]
It just stays at that red screen and doesn't do anything else.

Have you tried disabling the Steam Overlay? That usually helps with that issue.
