[BUG FIX] Black screen flicker during animations or scene transition

This bug appeared when I updated my GPU drivers ( AMD Adrenalin version 24.9.1.) and couldn't understand why this wasn't an issue before, but it turned out that the my display supports AMD FreeSync and it got turned on after the update.

The fix was just to turn off v-sync or AMD FreeSync option in the Gaming tab -> Darkest Dungeon -> Display -> AMD FreeSync set to Off and it fixed the issue for me.

Take my points, bro. For me it was so bad it was a black screen from the moment I started the game. Even after the ending cinematic ended or got cancelled, it was still all black.

Thought I'd add to this as that did not fix AMD flickering for me.

For me I found that it is directly tied to the screen width for some reason. Full screen or any windowed resolution at full width gave black screen flickering.

Adding the launch option of -size (full screen width-2) (full screen height) fixed it.

So for my setup at 3840*2160 it was -size 3838 2160

Someone should make a guide out of this. A guide to fix black screen flicker. I have this exact same issue with other games now and I think the exact same solution might work (I have to test) but I couldn't remember the solution so I went to go find it. I knew it was something related to Darkest Dungeon but I thought it was a guide, so I lost a bit of time looking for it in guides before looking for it in discussions.

Would have spent a lot longer if it weren't for the fact I got an email from steam when I gave points to OP and there was a link to this discussion in it. Hell, I probably wouldn't have been able to find it at all without that, actually. This information is very useful but absolutely BURIED here, in some random discussion thread in the middle of nowhere. It needs to be made a guide, I say.
