Snuffing out the torch? IS IT WORTH IT!?!?!

with the new ability to (quote on quote) control the torch is it really worth it? In my experience as long as i have most of the map scouted out to either a point where i will camp and KNOW there are no battles in the way, yeah it increases the amount of loot you get as long as your not on the brink of going mad it i usually find it brings me out on top.

I snuff it out to use dark trinkets and such.
More loot, more crits.

Yes the monsters get abit tougher, but so what? I get way more loot and i crit more.

I always do full dark runs, i never buy a torch.

Using moon rings is awesome, 2 of those give me 40% more dmg and 20Acc in darkness.

u know, yeah, i keep seeing those moon trinkets and thinking "id like to do that, but im too much of a ♥♥♥♥♥..." So i got 2 quick questions.

I used to get loot issues even if I tossed every heirloom. (Fully upgraded town, collecting money because numbers.) Now I don't, but I would if I were still grabbing heirlooms.

There is in fact a dark crown, with +15% stress resist in the dark.

Yeah its super worth it if you just want loot and not complete the mission, I have done some dark runs, mostly retreating before getting to the end and the amount of profit you get is insane. So yeah, torch snuffing for the win :D

Well I've seen a Lovecraftian Horror (It destroyed my whole party in two rounds) when I used the altar that turns-off your torch. If this can also spawn when you have no light I'm going to avoid that...

As far as I know that thing only spawns if you use the altar. Would be kinda cool though if it could randomly spawn when running around in the dark.

It can. It surprised me so I ran away, because I wasn't going to fight that thing for the first time with a party shift.
When I came back it was dogs.

the moon stuff is purely for stat gains, dmg,dodge,prot,acc, there is a new item called the dark crown that gives stress res, but imo its a crappy item.

And no i dont have inventory issues, i just keep the items that are most worth and throw away the rest.

So in the end i only have gems and stacks on stacks of gold.
in the beginning i had a few issue with all the heirlooms and whatnot, but i put them on priority so that i always wanted heirlooms over gold, so i upgraded everything in town and now i can just keep all the gold and toss the heirlooms.

The monster actually is a random spawn in pitch black darkness, the altar is for when its light ;P

I've met the monster on dark runs plenty of times to tell.

Also on the not completing missions, i always complete my mission on the dark runs, its not really that hard if you have the proper gear and setup.

Maybe the first few weeks when i didnt have any trinkets and upgrades, i had to retreat a few times.

But i'm at week 50 now and i can do full LONG dark runs on champion difficulty and breeze through it, haha this game is so easy.
