Religion and the Vestals camping abilities
Looking at the Vestals camping ability chant, it says it's more effective on religious heroes. Is it just that certain classes are religious and others aren't? If so, does anyone know which classes are religious? Or is a thing to do with quirks? Also the camping ability sanctuary says it reduces the chance of ambush if religious, does that mean that the Vestal has to be religious (in which case does that mean Vestals can be not religious?) or does it mean that it reduces the chance of ambush per religious hero? It would be nice if this kind of thing was explained in game, because it's not very clear.

i also ask that my self. Until now i believed that heroes with the "quirk" "God Fearing" are considered religious. If i am right this renders the camping abilitys of the vestals prettty muss useless.

(Funny fact: In my ast run my both vetals had the quirk "Love interest". So basicly they could neverbe seen in the church ... but alwayws in the brothel. And my highway man thieves always maditate and pray together with my crusaders in the church. :) I never had a god fearing vetal in all my Games...)

I think its class based. From what I've seen Crusaders, Vestals and Lepers are always religious at least.

That might also be a possibility. I will pay attention to it next time.

This is a good question^
I haven't seen any clear pattern with that either. It just seems random but I'm guessing it's a pre-set hidden "quirk" and it's up to you to remember who is or isn't religious through trial and error.

I tested it an hour ago. It seems Azryte is right. In my group the crusader and the lepper got the increased heal for being "religious". The bandit got the lower value. So it is Vestal lepper and Crusader i guess.

... That is a test?

Seems like a pretty huge margin for error there^

I also expected it was class based, and I have a party of two crusaders and two vestals to take advantage of it. All religious. Didn't even occur to me to check the leper though. Makes sense in retrospect.
The odds that this is by chance is surprisingly low.

So what about sanctuary though? If Vestals are always religious I don't understand why it would specify that the Vestal needs to be religious. It could be that the chance of night time ambush is decreased per religious hero, but it's a self only cast.

Indeed.
I have a Vestial with a Love Interest and a Nymphomanical Hellion -I pretend they have their own grimdark sapphic romance. =]

Its possible that later in development that if a character is or isn't religious can change, which I think would make sense since fighting otherworldly eldritch adbominations would shake the faith of some and drive others to it. Though it would mean abilities like sanctuary would be completely useless so maybe not, who knows.

I had once a crusader flagellant himself and afterwards i got a remark like: "XXXX has flaggelled himself and lost 80 Stress but it no longer religious."

So i guess people can loose being religious. I dont however if somebody can become religious.

Crusader.
Leper.
Vestal.
Anyone with God Fearing.

That's how you become religious.

I'm fairly certain that my God Fearing Hellion did not get the "if religious" benefits, though it's possible that I'm misremembering. Are you absolutely certain that God Fearing imparts religiosity for the purpose of the Vestal's camping skills?

Hellion is specifically flagged as non religious, that might take priority.

Are there classes that aren't flagged one way or the other, then?
