At what point do Short Dungeons stop spawning?
Is this based on Week number, Hamlet %, or what? My backup team got wiped, and I was left with a single level 3 Bounty Hunter, plus a bunch of rookies. Leveling them to boss fight strength became a real pain, because I could only choose Medium dungeons.

The cost of Food & Torches just to keep them alive long enough for a return on profit means I'm netting maybe 1k gold per run. Any info is appreciated :)

I was still getting short dungeons (of all difficulties, I think) after 100-odd weeks with a roster that was mostly level 5+ and a fully upgraded Hamlet. I'm not convinced they ever go away entirely, but they do seem to become significantly less common. Sadly, I don't know what causes them to become less common.

that sucks. you can try entering and leaving dungeons right away to get a new week & set of missions. i hope they always keep at least 1 lv1 mission every week, i have some trouble too sometimes and its kinda dumb to use the mechanic to just waste a week by,

there's no problem with having 1 short lv1 always because high level team comps will have their pick from the rest of the missions anyway.

Short missions are usually actually harder than medium ones, as the difference in average room number isn't that big, and you don't get to camp. You do have to bring more food and torches though (unless you go torchless.)
Good to know. I wound up starting a new campaign, counting my first run as a learning experience.

both my A and B Team got wiped out and I had nothing but level 1s after the next dungeon run it started spawning lower level dungeons
i'm sorry Mar 19, 2015 @ 7:41pm
Week 152 and I still get short missions pretty often. All the dungeons are randomized and sometimes it doesn't go your way.

Short missions are really easy, i don't know how you get the impression they are harder. You can even compleet mediums without camping.

but you can camp at the start of a medium and use skills like sharpen blade/clean guns for more damage, or up your stress resists, so you take less stress. You can also camp at the end and remove stress you have so you are ready for the next quest.

Honestly I think short dungeons are harder than medium or long dungeons, not easier. Generally I avoid short dungeons as soon as I get the option. Camping is just such a massive boost. You can use it for stress relief, healing, buffs, or all of the above at the same time. A lot of beginners seem to not really get a good grasp on camping and camp skills, or just don't provision properly, and I think that's why they have more difficulty with medium and long dungeons.

Btw you don't have to do a feast every time you camp, it is perfectly fine to camp at full health and just eat half rations and use the camp purely to buff up.

Certain camp skills like the Hellion's Sharpen Spear or the Highwayman's Clean Guns can make a massive difference. I'm personally a big fan of having a Vestal around with the Bless skill, and if you use Crusaders also then her Chant skill becomes very powerful too. And skills like Gallows Humor, Turn Back Time, Every Rose, etc. just melt away stress, or others like Unshakable Leader can avoid building it in the first place. Campings a key aspect of this game, so don't ignore it! :P

i like short and long the best. long you can use the first camp in the first room to get your buffs, then the 2nd camp if you need to heal. short you can just carry extra food and go healerless sometimes.

You really are overestimating the shorter dungeon difficulty. Those camping buffs are very good but it's not 'a must have to compleet'. Shorters are quick and clean without too much trouble and if you do find them harder because of RNG, mediums and longs can you screw you over just as bad.
