Darkest Dungeon®

Darkest Dungeon®

Please, help me find out if I can get OpenGL 3.2 or not.
Doesn't matter where I look it only says Video Card: "Intel(R) HD Graphics". I tried finding specifics with EVEREST too but to no avail.

This is everything the steam system information says about it, but I still don't know if I can update to OpenGL 3.2 or not:

Driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics

DirectX Driver Name: igdumdx32.dll
Driver Version: 8.15.10.2189
DirectX Driver Version: 8.15.10.2189
Driver Date: 28 July 2010
OpenGL Version: 2.1
Desktop Color Depth: 32 bits per pixel
Monitor Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
DirectX Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics
VendorID: 0x8086
DeviceID: 0x46
Number of Monitors: 1
Number of Logical Video Cards: 1
No SLI or Crossfire Detected
Primary Display Resolution: 1366 x 768
Desktop Resolution: 1366 x 768
Primary Display Size: 18.98" x 10.67" (21.73" diag)
48.2cm x 27.1cm (55.2cm diag)
Primary Bus Type Not Detected
Primary VRAM: -1350 MB
Supported MSAA Modes Not Detected

If I try using the Intel Driver Update Utility it says I have a custom driver which should not be updated but in the "Master List of Darkest Dungeon Fixes" thread they say the update utility is unreliable so I should be doing it manually in the Download Center but there it requires more informations.

I really just want to find out if I can get that godfrsaken OpenGL 3.2 or not.

On Steam, click Help then click system information. Your OpenGL version should be there somewhere.
Since you have an integrated Intel GPU it depends highly on what CPU family you have as to whether it supports OpenGL3.2

"Generally" speaking only HD4000 and higher support it but agian it depends on which CPU family you're on.

OMG! Read the actual post before commenting please!
What CPU is it?
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 M370 2x 2.40GHz. I'm trying to find it on the link Satoru gave but I can't find it.
It'll be 370M (http://ark.intel.com/products/49020/Intel-Core-i3-370M-Processor-3M-cache-2_40-GHz) - that's a roughly 5 year old mobile processor, supporting up to OpenGL 2.1. It's from before Intel were even *trying* to make decent integrated graphics, which is why it's just 'Intel HD' and no actual model number.

Sorry.
So it's a no. That's alright I just wanted to know. It's weird though how my 10 years old desktop supprts OpenGL 3.2 but not this.
Out of interest, what's the GPU on that desktop? 10 years ago the most recent version of OpenGL was 2.0, though it's possible that a GPU that happened to have the necessary hardware support could have had a driver update to allow for newer versions.
Well, the video card is Nvidia Geforce 210. That's all I can tell you atm. I might have exaggerated the 10 years but I know that everything in my desktop is older than what is inside this laptop.

Call it weird or whatever but yes, that 6 years old GPU of yours supports OpenGL 3.2. ;)

The Intel integrated cards didn't start supporting OpenGL4 until he HD4000 which is fairly recent. Older AMD/Nvidia cards have supported OpenGL for a very long time.

I also have the integrated intel HD Graphics.

Unfortunately they only upgrade to OpenGL 2.1.

Fotunately though, there are a few things that allowed me to play.
Disabling the OpenGL check (Warning: "at your own risk")
Disabling the Steam overlay (This was addressed in a recent update. I have not tried to verify if it now works with my setup.)

There's a decent overview here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_HD_and_Iris_Graphics#Capabilities
I just want to say that my graphic card only supports OpenGL 3.1, but the game runs fine as long as I disable the Steam Overlay. I have an Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Doesn't work for me. It starts loading for a second, gives me a black screen then the .exe stops responding.
