Portraits?
I've been playing pretty hard since Thursday night, and I am finding portaits very hard to find at the present time. I would really like to upgrade the guild so I can train up some skills on my adventurers. Am I missing something on how to get these items?

yea portraits and deeds seem to be the rarest. Its normally in where you adventure though. I'm finding alot more deeds when I go to the weild then anywhere else. I'm sure portaits can be found in the warrens.

Yeah, I have tons of crests and busts, just not many deeds and hardly any portraits.

Each zone gives different rewards, the warrens is what gives portaits (as you can see beside each zone name) .. at least in quest reward, I do not know if it affects the droprate in the level itself..

And I just spent two adventures in the Warrens and only found one portrait, meanwhile I found over 25 crests. Ive been struggling to get deeds and portraits by exploring in the appropriate areas but it's just not working out. It's making upgrading town very challenging.

You should get more portraits in the Warrens and more deeds in the Weald. For heirlooms, it helps to do medium, or, better yet, long dungeons, IMHO. Both because the reward is bigger and because you'll get to cycle through more loot.

Study this then:
http://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Curio

It is a list of all 'things' you can encounter in all dungeons. And describes the interaction with them. So f.e. you will know where to bring more shovels (Cove) or Holy water (Ruins) to gain more treasure. Later you will learn which item to use with which curio. Also you will learn not to touch any carcasses without Herbs.
