Take some fresh blood into a dungeon and suicide them. I usually go as far as I can with at least one character left, or if they are all almost dead, retreat. Then take the gold and kick their arses out.
Thanks guys and good luck !
In short, I have no one left. All of my heroes are either indisposed of in the tavern or abbey, or are too stressed out to make it even halfway through a dungeon. And believe me, I've tried. The result is always the same. Food consumption is raised to the point where every 2 rooms they have to stop for food. Their afflictions, be it masochism, fearful, or selfish, cause everyone else in the dungeon to freak out. One of them already had a heart attack.
I'd tag the dev if tagging was even an option on the Steam forums because it looks like my only option is to kill seven people in order to actually progress in the game. Every failed venture drains money from my pool.
So here's the deal: I can't get anyone from the stagecoach because I already have. Whoever I send into that dungeon will die, and I'll lose money as well. Since there's no skip turn or wait function in this game like there is in any other strategy game, I'm left to wonder what exactly I'm supposed to do.
Can't you use a party of just one single fall guy? You don't need a full party to do adventures.
Dismiss some, and recruit from the caravan. Work a group back up running level 1 quests, and use the cash to treat the ones you don't dismiss.
This is probably why it doesn't cost anything to recruit. You really can't hit a dead end, and so long as you do upgrades, you make progress.
Also, judging by the responses of this thread, it sounds like back in 2015, the Darkest Dungeon didn't prevent the same party from returning to complete another floor? People are saying you should have extra party members in case someone dies, rather than "You need 4 full parties to beat the game anyway".
Even better, you used to be able to camp in the first room. So folks would send in four antiquarians, use the trinket finding skill, then camp again, do it again, and then abandon.
