Mouse Cursor
I've looked at several resources online, tried a couple and not working (namely telling the game to launch in windowed mode by doing -windowed in properties), tried toggling on/off controller use in menu, and also reinstalling the game. No dice. I'm on a Steam deck, so if that makes any changes to advice that can be given then I would greatly appreciate any help that can be provided. Along with others it seems the mouse is being recognized, but is invisible which of course makes it unusable.

Try just disconnecting the mouse from the device if it's always connected. Your mouse may be constantly giving off signal for whatever reason so the game assumes it's being used and prioritises it.

If it's still detecting the mouse despite not being connected then I don't know what to do. I hope someone else can help.

..............

EDIT: Also are you playing on a 4K display by any chance? I THINK (don't know personally) the game's UI doesn't scale well on super high resolutions so the cursor might actually be there but simply just too small to see if you're using a 4K monitor.

Maybe same issue as mentioned in this reddit thread with the invisible mouse?

https://www.reddit.com/r/darkestdungeon/comments/13c78xi/mouse_curser_issue/

It was on DD2 but possible it's the same issue.

The solution is to turn off "overwolf, bandicam, msi after burner rivaturner, any 3rd party overlay software program" in that case. I don't know what any of them are but maybe it rings a bell for OP.

Also try this:

It's probably more specific and relevant about DD1's invisible mouse on Steam Deck.

Suggested fixes are

forcing compatibility on GE-Proton7-37 fixed it for me.
and
- Switch to Desktop mode

- Open game configuration in Steam

- In "Compatibility" tab select "Proton 8"

- Launch the game, verify mouse pointer

- Switch back to game move. Voila!

Monitor is 2560x1440. I could mess with that and see if it resolves it. I’ll also check out your other links. Thank you for your help.
