Personally, Musketeer is one of my all-time favourite vibes for DD1, as there's something special about cracking out handguns and rifles to shoot skeletons and tentacled space fiends in the face. Subjectivity aside, there's no point avoiding the installation unless you simply hate how ARB works and want absolutely nothing to do with a similar-playing hero.
ARB/MUS are surprisingly tanky, have good damage, good healing - backup or full-time - and are naturally packed with projection, so they are always worth consideration. Their main weaknesses are their lack of front-rank flex and being the third-slowest heroes in the game (outside of situational Sidearm speed-stacking playstyles, occasionally allowing them to outspeed all heroes and enemies as a fight-opener).
As someone who only recruits MUS instead of ARB (for the sake of neatness and aesthetical preference), I've never felt the sting of having both together while only wanting a specific one. You will eventually acquire every trinket for both of them regardless.
