Fated or +5 ACC quirk, which is better?
So the mechincal side of fated seems a bit unclear. Does fated proc enough to make it better than +5 ACC to your attacks or is the reliable +5 better?

Why not have both? I did on my Leper...he's super reliable now!

I would like to know how Fated works though - do you just re-roll (so it's based on your current net accuracy) or is it a flat percentage?

Because you can only lock in so many quicks and I want to know which is better. I've got an arbilist and highway man with +3 crit and +10% damage locked in, for the last slot I need to figure out if I want fated or +5 ACC. On a leper having both does sound pretty good though.

Well with +5 accuracy, a miss will still always be a miss and there are plenty of accuracy boosting trinkets.

I'd say go with Fated.

Yeah, but its a question of how often fated procs. Lets say for sake of aurgment that fated procs roughly 25% of misses. Than it would increase your characters chance to hit them more than +5 ACC. But if it only procs like 5%-10% of misses, than the ACC might be better.
you might be able to look in the game files to see the interaction. my guess is its something insignificant, like 1% of missed hits. I would go with the known entity

Sadly I am unable to locate the precise chance that 'Fated' has to proc. As it stands right now, it's not showing a buff of any kind. This could either be an error, oversight, or indicate that the quirk is hidden behind the executable itself for now. If the latter is true then there is no current way of knowing precisely how often it procs.

On an unrelated note, so I don't have to make a new thread and clutter the fourm, anyone know if brawlers glove is still bugged? I heard that even if you wher ein rank 1 it would not give the +25 damage?

Let me check that for you!

Edit: The rank seems to be showing alright in the files; can anyone confirm that the buff is applying outside of the first rank?

acc caps out at 90%. if you can get to high enough acc to hit that cap on most enemies, fated is better since it has however much chance of turning that last 10% into hits. otherwise, i'm not sure how fated works mechanically so i couldn't say.

Several moves have a base acc of over 100, how can it cap at 90?

This has allready been discussed several times.

As a fundamental result:
If fated grants you a reroll, 100 % of the time you "Miss" (which is different from "Dodge") it's always superior to +5 Acc.
Since Hit-probability is capped at 90 %, this result stays valid no matter how high your actual accuracy is!
If your Acc is still below 90, the advantage of the fated quirk will be even greater.
EDIT: Whether the fated quirk is in fact superior or not, entirely depends on the probability at which it grants you the reroll (this probability still remains unknown)!

For a rather detailed discussion see here:

It's just the way the game is designed. Chance to hit doesn't exceed 90% under normal circumstances. Any accuracy which would otherwise push it over that point merely acts as a buffer against debuffs.
