It's best for most. They're built in. No moving files around etc.

that is true
i just had a feeling that some mods are not in the workshop so i wanted to know if there are other mod sites for it
I'm sure there are, such as Nexus. It all depends on what you're wanting. Steam has enough for me, and I'm sure most people, because of ease of use, but if it's still not enough, there are other places. No one has everything, but Steam and Nexus must surely cover just about everything worth using.

Yes, Workshop is the de facto location for Darkest Dungeon mods. Many are not updated on the Nexus or simply not available there. On top of that, it has become harder to obtain Workshop listed mods without owning the game on Steam.
As a mod creator, it's simply a lot of hassle to upload and update mod on nexus, whereas on steam it's much quicker, and you have a guarantee people aren't using outdated versions.

Edit: Which is why I upload my stuff on workshop

Easier to use, easier to keep updated, easier to remove once you're done. Also, there are more than enough mods on Workshop.
