Area map - Number in skull
The more you crawl in an area, the more your skull's number goes up.
what's this number for ? I'm at 3 now and boss area is available. what's the max number ?

- Does it influance the average difficulty of the mission's area ? their lenght ?
- If I do some missions in let say cove, will Ruin will "cool down" a little ?

I need a steady supply of short mission to earn some gold with canon fodder.
I'm affraid the global lvl of mission will rise the more I play. Is there a way to temper this ?

as far as i know, the bar level is there to unlock bosses, the more you battle in a dungeon, the more the bar goes up, and bosses start unlocking.

if you put your mouse over the bar, it will say something like "way to the boss x% complete" , when the bar is full, it will say"slay the boss!" because he is now unlocked.

that is all that i know.

The max lvl is 7, i believe. I don't think it has any influence really, but every level you unlock one boss fight :)

You can only stop the lvl from rising by failing missions :D
There will still be short missions though, don't worry.

You always get levels from all difficulties. No worries :D

ok thanks ^^ I do lot of "suicide" expeditions to earn gold for a very few selection of cherished and well maintained adventurer.

Its actually the opposite.

My current roster of 16 are mostly Resolve 3-4. This means that i cannot do Apprentice (1) missions, and cannot do most of the currently spawning missions. Level 3+ refuse to do lower level missions.

Love the game, but they did an amazingly awful job articulating a number of features/mechanics.

I don't think the dungeon level actually affects difficulty - I thought it did at one time, causing more dangerous group spawns and fewer trash ones (ie. more 4 brigand spawns and fewer 3 maggot ones) but I don't think that's actually the case. If it is it's not actually dangerous enough to matter much. Mostly it's a way to help one know which dungeons to work to get to the bosses. If you're trying to quickly beat all bosses and the caretaker goals it's helpful to know what to level.

It used to stop if you had a boss up and didn't take boss missions, so if it worries you can just run non-boss missions in the dungeons where a boss appears. I think? It doesn't matter much either way.

Assuming that you will get some heroes eaten or knocked off, you will get a chance to go at those entry level dungeons again.
Glad I saw this, was wondering the same thing. My dungeons are at 1-1.5 now, but I'm not quite ready to tackle the first set of bosses yet. Wanted to make sure that I could bring up a few more Heroes (probably reach 2.5 on dungeon level) without adverse effects.
