Concerning the glossary, i wish we had a fully detailed description of beaten enemies with their location/resistance/seen attacks. So that playing for a while would grant you a tactical advantage without using a wiki page or a sheet of paper.
an alternative for the hit location could 7,8,9,0 for the different monster slots
The others, well more keyboard controls are always good for efficiency.
One thing I'd really like to have them fix is that the Activity Log and Glossary can't be closed with Esc, but that's more like a pet peeve :)
2) mmmmmm I'd say try to use controls similar to industry standards or whatever. like tab cycles to next tab, shift-tab cycles backwards to previous tab
far as having functionalites for different buttons uhmmmm hm yeh I dunno about using F1 &c keys for different stuff. like, your brain has to switch back and forth. normally i wouldn't be worried about overtaxing some ppl's brane cells buuuuut
BUT at ANY rate no matter what happens there should be a tooltip or some kinda indication for what hotkey does what in game - preferably not a mouseover either, but pretty clearly indicated from the on-screen text like "(E)xpedition" or something
also for whatever reason I've read some people like all the controls to be on the left side, so they can keyboard with left while using mouse with right. or doing whatever they do with their right hand
finally - ideally keyboard controls OUGHT to be remappable, AND the keyboard controls show up on screen when they're remapped. So like if you have "(E)xpedition" and you change the hotkey from E to T for whatever reason, then you see the text on screen change to "Expedition (T)"
yeah I might say somethin like I would just take this stuff for granted
but maybe I take too much for granted
clean water
clean air
bed to sleep on at night
food wot isn't moldy or rotten
food
i kno rite
i'm blessed
i could just assume that meant carpal tunnel syndrome
buuut that would not be fun
so I will say u must have meant critical thinking skills
yes it is wise to be wary of that
it's dangerous
==
cardiac-thoracic surgery is also something to stay away from
eat your veggies
==
cash to spend
money is the root of all evil
or something
just give me all that evil stuff
i'll make sure it's disposed of properly
. . .
==
but for real remappable controls and text changing in-game to display updated hotkeys at all times
git on it
Well, this thread is a bit old anyway and mostly they are just suggestions. I much prefer fast keyboard shortcuts from clicking on itty-bitty icons. I do enough of that at work with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ applications where good UI designers have been nowhere around when they were developed...
Besides I don't really play DD that much any more, let's just say I hit a wall.
I personally agree that more shortcuts is one of the things this game needs the most right now, but that sort of topic would probably be better in the Suggestion & Feedback forum than the general one.
I agree that it's one of the shortcut I miss the most. TAB is a good place for it.
They did? Neat!
There's at least a shortcut for torches, but making more supplies usable this way would be good. Don't think it's the most important, though.
Ah, good one. The ability to pick skills isn't very useful without the ability to actually use them. I was thinking of confirming with Enter/Return before using 1-4 to target, but I agree that your idea works better. If the F buttons are an issue, 7-8-9-0 would work fine too.
Showing or hiding the upgrade menu, you mean?
Speaking of managing the roster, I'd also appreciate a way to scroll up and down the roster without using the mouse.
Trinkets and Character screens would be useful. And adding a shortcut for every one of those makes sense. We could also add Heirloom trading.
Oh gods, yes. I never know if ESC will close the screen or bring up the pause menu. To me, that's the most annoying thing with shortcuts right now.
Given that you end up in the Activity Log after each quest, that gets annoying quickly.
Space or Enter, yes.
HERESY! :P
