Is there a way to skip the intros?
... and just go directly to opening my campaign? It's irritating to have to click and click and click every time starting up the game.

Copied from the master list of fixes that is pinned in the forum:

Disable the intro cinematics

Go to your Steam Library
Right click -> Properties on Darkest Dungeon
Click the "GENERAL" tab
Click "Set Launch Options"
In the box type in "-disablevideo" (remove the quotes)

Thanks that avoids one of the clicks but there are still 3 more required, plus the waiting in between...

This is a classic example of low-risk, low-gain trolling.

Have to give it 6/10, it actually got a reply.

No idea why this would be considered trolling. I'd like to know this too.

I HATE logos and intro videos being shoved down my throat. I disable them for every game I can, but I can't seem to skip the logos on this one.

The troll comment was a joke, but whatevs. Seems like skipping logos varies from game to game, company to company - not likely to change.

The "you're about to play Darkest Dungeon - which, in case you haven't heard, is like, really, really hard you guise" intro screen is pretty unnecessary though :P

I'd also like a way to disable the logos and go right to the start screen when booting up the game. Has one been discovered ? In other games remaning the video files gets rid of them...

I remember one game where - when you went into the setup files and disabled the 5 (FIVE!) videos for various developer studios, distributors, nVidia inside, etc - you got rid of the videos themselves, sure enough, but it just made you wait with a black screen instead.

I think maybe it was BF2?!

Damn .... =)

Agreed. I know what game I'm playing and who made it. This kind of stupidity should show once the first time you play. Maybe every 10th time to be 1/10th as annoying. Or there should be an option to disable it. I don't care if other games do this too - it's just as annoying in any other game that does it. You don't BUY games to be annoyed by them.

This option is non-working.
There is no way to skip or disable cinematics for now.

The warning that the game will be difficult is at least not as bad as the various "Gamepad recommended" and "This game has an Auto-Save function!" warnings that various games display every time you start the game (Those warnings tend to stay on screen until you die of old age). The company logos are also displayed for a pretty short time period compared to many other games.

That being said, I'm in favour of a command line option to skip straight to the main menu.

Or having the console controls on screen any time you go near anything to interract with in Dark Souls for the entire game even if you're playing with Keyboard & Mouse!

I normally alt-tab and do something else instead of waiting.
