What benefits does LvL 6 have?
Because when you hit lvl 5, you have access to all upgrades. Whats the point of lvl 6? Does it give better stress resist or stress heal, better disease resist, better quirk possibilities, what?

You get an extra 10% to most resists (the ones that give bonuses based on resolve level).

Other than that, I don't think there's any benefit. That's something that should be addressed. There should be something special for resolve level 6 (and maybe instead of giving it automatically you have to do something special to get resolve level 6)

They will be better prepared for the Darkest Dungeon. If preparedness is even possible.

But when the Darkest Dungeon finally arrives, there is going to be an extra tier of gear and skills for the heroes, right?

Did anyone else mentally append an evil laugh to the end of that post?

I have to say that being able to train up level 5 skills, armor and weapons at level 4 makes attaining level 6 kind of anticlimactic. The shift in the economy makes it harder to max out the skills and gear on your level 4's, so the upgrade gets deferred to some extent through level 5, but it doesn't really change the feeling of it. There's no obvious payoff to maxing your character's level. I feel like there ought to be some sort of capstone ability - maybe you can upgrade one skill one step further, or some such.

I understand there are game balance issues - you don't want players to be completing Champion dungeons with ease. Having another entire tier of skill, weapon and armor upgrades would probably unbalance things. But in terms of game psychology, I think this is a bit of a failure. Right now level 5 feels like 'max', with level 6 being sort of a strange addendum.

@dlmcelroy0 I don't disagree - it's a stairway that leads to a locked door right now. We have to put these hooks in, however, so that when the endgame goes live, it plugs into the existing infrastructure.

Ah, got it. Ok, that wasn't obvious from your previous comment! Thanks for the response, I look forward to seeing what comes with the endgame!

3 years and 3 DLCs later, and level 6 is still the same as it was in beta, is it not?

LOL

I suppose some modder out there could actually add something to level 6, but oddly I haven't noticed anything.

A self-aware necro, very uncommon.
Level 6 raises stress resistance and is basically a beadge that says "this hero survived a champion mission"

It increases stress resistance by 10%, which is surprisingly significant.
If you take a level 5 into the darkest dungeon, they will take 25 stress for entering.
