First Cove experience
Finally this game came out and i love it so much!

I were doing other dungeons and then i saw cool reward on short veteran Cove mission. I did put my best team for it. Fully equipped level 3 dudes and was like "lets do it"
After 3 fights i just had to abort mission. 2 out of 3 fights i got suprised, light were above 85% is all cases. Enemies critted 13 times, all of my guys got afflicted, one got heathattack.

Is the Cove supposed to be harder than Ruins, Weald and Warrens? Or did i just had worst luck ever?

Cove is just the high damage zone. Dungeon difficulty rating: 1) Weald 2) Cove 3) Warrens 4) Ruins

Combination of bad luck and some differences in the cove. The cove isn't as heavy on stress damage, but the enemies are hard hitting and often fairly fast. There's a fair number of bleed attacks in the cove and the monsters work together a bit. It rewards using blight attacks and penalizes bleed.

Always bring a Plague Doctor in there, and yeah, the Cove might be considered "harder" since the enemies in there aim mostly at cutting your hp out rather than stressing you,and they are damn proficient at it.

P.S. Bring herbs for corals

P.P.S If you see a fat guy, throw everything you have at it,even the helmets and armor pieces.

Cove is brutal. Hardest dungeon pre-final release IMO.

The fat guys were my demise in last battle. I had solid healer with 66% increased healing (vestal). I couldnt continue since in the end they exploded because of low damage rolls.

The worst is the first time i encountered them at Cove Release, encountered a lone fattie just as i entered the dungeon and i was like "look at this bloated ball that does no damage and is an ugly slowpoke"...BOOM 3/4 heroes death door first tile abandoned quest, just lol.

I had 2 fatties, shieldguy and spearfishguy. Second fight round and boom!

The eldritch crab does 8 bleed damage per turn in veteran. Mummify your crew in bandages if no P.D.

Reuban, I had the exact same experience! As others have said, the Cove seems to be a high damage zone. Not much stress, though, unless you take a shovel to one of those Bas Relief things. Yipes.

Two thralls? Yuck. I hate those guys. I want to get a screenshot of the very moment that they blow up.

But yes, the cove can be a very harsh awakening in relation to other places...pelagic nightmares.
Reedo Jan 20, 2016 @ 5:22pm
Thralls are totally ok. Only when you get unlucky and the pelagic champions guard them, that's when you're in trouble^^

Yep, the enemies at the cove are more polished and they actually got decent support skills (kinda feels like other locations aren't really finished compared to cove).
Though with decent tactics it isn't really harder. Just try to focus on pelagic groupers as they can deal big dmg (just as you would focus swine slashers in warrens).
It's just that that other 3 locations in general make you too used to clearing backline 1st.

yeah ♥♥♥♥ that place... everything hits for a ton.... i had such a run going and a thrall scores the first kill on my playthrough

At lower difficulties an occultist with Sacrificial Stab can really mess the Cove up hard. Man at Arms with his mass speed buff and handy stun has been really good for me in there, too. Plague Doc is Plague Doc (but I've actually ran sucessful Jesters in there too).

Weald on the other hand, good lord.
