what is the red skull symbol in the character picture after a quest?

hi, i just started playing it.

i finished a quest and my character got a red skull symbol in their picture. what is this?

If your in town, it means they are selected to "embark."

The red skull next to a hero's portrait in the roster list means that they are selected to go on a dungeon run. The game "remembers" who is in a party between missions, so whoever went on a mission is still chosen to go until you unselect them.

Its also a great way to keep track of who you need to send to the asylum or destresser.
