If I miss something, I apologize. Someone else may be able to offer better information to correct my memory.
Note that this doesn't affect the level of the missions available to you. If your roster is all low ranks you will only see Apprentice-level missions even if the region has been worked enough to progress all the way to level 7. As your roster levels up the difficulty of the dungeons available each week will also go up.
If it doesn't effect the "level of the missions abailible", why is there a progress up to level 7? Anthing else then unlocking 6 Bosses?
That's what the bar is for. Completing missions adds progress, and when you've acquired enough, you gain access to the next boss. It serves no real function beyond that (gating).
You can have an entire barracks full of level 6 heroes perish permanently -- so -- if mission levels were determined by zone progress instead of overall roster level, especially with a non-upgraded coach, then you'd have little means of levelling back to Champion (Level 6).
Due to hinging on overall roster XP instead, you'll always have missions available for your respective heroes. It can be awkward when you have a barracks full of 5-6's (and about 1-4 apprentices on the side), but you'll still get green missions for the lowbies occasionally.
Just an impression maybe.
Incorrect - The zone level affects the chances of you getting medium or long missions.
What actually happens is that mission types and difficulties depend on the average level of your entire roster. With a total of 29 characters, if you happen to have 25 of them at lvl 6 and 4 of them at lvl 3 or 4, then the game will have one or two veteran (lvl 3 and 4) missions in a random biome while the rest of the missions will be level 5.
I get the difficulty thing and it makes sense so you can't lock out your save progression but you do know that mission type and difficulty are two different things? That you can get long apprentice missions and short veteran missions too?
I stated I wasn't sure because and didn't pay enough attention to it and my sample is too small. Have you ever got any long mission (any difficulty) from a lv:0 zone??
