Quest screen - Symbol meanings?
Hi, i can't figure out what on the quest screen the "symbols" are for ... maybe i did miss something on the tutorial, but played it twice. Pls help me out.

I now i can see how "long" a qust will be and by the color for what player level it is (shown on the left side in details, after click on a quest). But above the quest symbol, there is a "red line", what does it mean? And beside that, there is a Skull with a number in it, what does that number mean?

Before i did questany quest in an area, by hovering it showed me a tooltip with "0%" unitl Boss. Later, after doing a quest, it does not show any other percentage. But there was the red line then, so i tought it show the percentage until boss fight. But nope, it seems only let the Skull-number count up. But i could challenge the boss at each numer. So what do i miss?

The red line is basically how skilled your team is with a dungeon, or a representation of your progress toward the next fight. The number is sort of the same, and as it progresses toward the max, you will be eligible to fight the boss monsters periodically. You're reading it right. You don't have to fight the bosses. It just manages eligibility. If you level all the way to max, you could potentially fought multiple bosses in a row.

If I miss something, I apologize. Someone else may be able to offer better information to correct my memory.

The red line represents your progress toward unlocking the next level within that dungeon. The number on the skull represents the current level. The first boss for each region unlocks when it reaches level 2 (only takes a couple of runs to get it there), after that for each new level another boss is unlocked. However, you will only ever have ONE boss mission available in each region. Until you do it, you won't see the next one even if it is unlocked. If you have done the latest unlocked boss in a region, when you mouse-over the skull it will show your percentage progress toward the next boss. If you have a boss available it will always just say "slay the boss" even though you continue to progress the region toward the next one. There are 7 levels total for each region, once you get to level 7 it won't update any further.

Note that this doesn't affect the level of the missions available to you. If your roster is all low ranks you will only see Apprentice-level missions even if the region has been worked enough to progress all the way to level 7. As your roster levels up the difficulty of the dungeons available each week will also go up.

Thank you very much.

If it doesn't effect the "level of the missions abailible", why is there a progress up to level 7? Anthing else then unlocking 6 Bosses?

You can't really lose the game on the normal difficulties, so if you suffer a critical wipe and you lose your most experienced people, then the missions will change, because it's weighted to be average of your roster's level. So If all your people are champions and half of them get slaughtered, it will drop the level of the missions so the greens will have a chance to level up, too.

That's what the bar is for. Completing missions adds progress, and when you've acquired enough, you gain access to the next boss. It serves no real function beyond that (gating).

You can have an entire barracks full of level 6 heroes perish permanently -- so -- if mission levels were determined by zone progress instead of overall roster level, especially with a non-upgraded coach, then you'd have little means of levelling back to Champion (Level 6).

Due to hinging on overall roster XP instead, you'll always have missions available for your respective heroes. It can be awkward when you have a barracks full of 5-6's (and about 1-4 apprentices on the side), but you'll still get green missions for the lowbies occasionally.

I think the zone level also affect the chance to get medium or long missions, like at lv:0 you only get shorts and long seems to only appear by lv:4

Just an impression maybe.

Correct - The red line indicates how long you have until you have to face the boss. It fills the bar by completing quests. That's what the bar message 'clear the way to the boss' means. Bosses appear at ranks 2, 4 and 7 and they're apprentice, veteran and champion experience level, respectively. Each region has two of them and they repeat themselves across all three experience levels.

Incorrect - The zone level affects the chances of you getting medium or long missions.

What actually happens is that mission types and difficulties depend on the average level of your entire roster. With a total of 29 characters, if you happen to have 25 of them at lvl 6 and 4 of them at lvl 3 or 4, then the game will have one or two veteran (lvl 3 and 4) missions in a random biome while the rest of the missions will be level 5.

I get the difficulty thing and it makes sense so you can't lock out your save progression but you do know that mission type and difficulty are two different things? That you can get long apprentice missions and short veteran missions too?

I stated I wasn't sure because and didn't pay enough attention to it and my sample is too small. Have you ever got any long mission (any difficulty) from a lv:0 zone??
