Gold Cheat or Mod ?

I like the combat and dungeon exploration but I'm terrible at management. its terrible to use heroes those are not prepared . Having done a few vet dungeon with loads of enemy that keep dodging and getting one shot crit to dead door. Gold are too scarce to build hero and they lvlup very quick which I have to throwaway Hero those are mid upgraded but still not good enough to run veteran dungeon.

Lets say when I play X-com and lose a soldier its not too much of big deal because rookie still work consistently as veteran except that they got less option.

Any mod out there that takeout the gold management part ?

Close Darkest Dungeon.

Open quest.json with text editor.

About 85% of the way down, you'll see something like this

Change 3000 to 90000000 (or whatever). If you want you can change all the amounts. Save.

Each dungeon has a payout related to the length and difficulty of the quest, changing that number changes the gold payout.

Once you start up Darkest Dungeon again, everything's the same, only doing a quest for whatever gold amount you edited will instead give you 90000000 gold (or whatever you made it)

Note - each time you change 3000 to 90 million or whatever, or 4500 to 90 million or whatever, that only affects *one* quest length/difficulty.

When you're done you can change it back. Or not. Whatever. But I think maybe having a bazillion gold will crash your game permanently, so maybe cap out at 20 million or something then change back, and change it back again whenever you want a chunk of gold.

o ya couple things

if you're running mac or something then maybe file will be different, anyways look for it.

normally managing gold is a big part of the game, it's not empirically too difficult, you just have to know what to do.

also why mess with quest payouts? because trying to edit your game file on the go can irretrievably corrupt your save game file so yeah let's just not mess with that.

Alternatively, if you want a more "moderate" cheat, you can go to the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\inventory

Use Notepad or Wordpad to open inventory.darkest

You will find statistics for .base_stack_limit for a variety of inventory items, like gold, gems, etc.

Simply increase the stack limits for gold and gems to whatever you like- e.g. 10,000 for gold, 20 for gems.

The effect of this is to greatly increase the profitability of any mission you play, as you can carry more and throw out less. This is especially helpful in long dungeons, where you normally have to pick and choose what you keep or discard. Take it all with you!

Some may prefer this to simply cheating in a bunch of gold at once, but it does take more work.

not sure why u r struggling so hard for gold. poor management/party composition? why r u being 1 shot to deaths door? did you upgrade armor?

Thanks for your advice but it didn't work. I tried 6 or 7 times following the procedure, but the game constantly rewards me with the standard amount of gold.

The game already has a built in gold cheat. It's called The Bank.

I wasn't personally struggling for gold before, so I might not be the best person for non-cheat advice, but once I got The Bank, my gold 'worries' basically disappeared, I have nearly 3 million gold currently and would have to do something ridiculous to ever put a dent in that.
