Best backer heroes?

Can some of you name 3 of each class that are the best? (according to quirks)

Honestly, skimming through the list, I'd say most of them look pretty solid. Lots of great quirk combinations with relatively minor disadvantages on them.

Well, it depends on what quirks you like your heroes to have. If you like more defensive heroes, grab people with Tough/Hard Skinned. If you like more offensive ones, great someone with Eagle Eye and Unerring (ranged) or Precise Striker/Slugger (melee). Anyone with Quick Reflexes is worth a look, as well as On Guard. The negative quirks I'd probably ignore if the positive quirks are a good match, since it's easier to remove an annoying negative quirk than to find two good ones. Even then, there's only a small handful that have Curious/Kleptomania/Slow Reflexes that need immediate removal. Some are nice enough to have Great Quirk/Great Quirk/Bad Gambler or something.

They all seem well optimized. The Leper one, for example, has Fated which is probably great for him since Lepers have poor accuracy. Most of them are pretty logical for the hero's kit.

For Crusader, Dominic Sullivan is the best replacement for Raynaud.
Not just for the positive quirks more suited for a Crusader (Warrior of Light / Unholy Slayer, but his only negative (starting ) is God Fearing (will only pray for stress relief). meaning you do not have to deal with kelptomaniac popping up every other chest.

I don't keep a complete list, but I do have one for all the classes available. I used Man At Arms "Cadogan" a lot, because I like having two man-at-arms and I don't always want to wait for a spawn. Hellion "Red Ayla" has seen some action in my games too.

Typically I try not to use it too much unless the Stage Coach is being really stupid, but it can be a nice time saver in the really early weeks.

There's also backer trinkets but that list is just gigantic. The only one I bothered to commit to memory was "Crest of the 1100".

EDIT: Here's the quick reference list I keep on file, I wouldn't say they are all the "best" but it can help get a spawn early game and none are bad that's for sure. And honestly I think I just picked the Houndmaster because I like he named the dog. lol

Vestal - Sorcha Calduor (Warrior of Light, Unholy Slayer)

There are no backer heroes for Antiquarian or Flagellant because of them being added later.
