Items disappear while eating?
So, I tried some long champion quests, and noticed that sometimes when I ate food, I lost something in my inventory. I lost a puzzling trapezohedron, which really sucked, the first time.
The second time, I lost ~750 gold. Is this just a mechanic that I'm unaware of?

If it helps explain the situation further, I -may- have been loitering around the dungeon a bit to mop up curios, and one of my people had a fasting seal.

When you eat food, the game automatically moves stacks and items around. You probably just didn't notice but it moved onto another stack or a different slot in your inventory.

That doesn't exactly explain the missing trapezohedron, but thanks for clearing up the other examples!

This happened to me quite a few times as well. I've been trying to take pictures of it and submit a bug report, but I always either forget to make a before image or it just doesn't happen. But there are occassions when I eat or destroy a wall and I lose some loot.
And I always keep my inventory in order so I know it's not just things moving around.
