XP mods contradict the "intended experience" and do a far worse job, because there is more to the "grind" than resolve (XP) - such as heirlooms, trinkets, gold, districts, town upgrades, and various other considerations before the grind is truly peaked.
I found the librarian mod and Imma try her out.
The ruins have both bosses locked until I get helping hands town event 4 times to clear the level 1 and 3 versions.
You barely get to play your teams once per level in the base game. How is that too slow? If you just want to play the darkest dungeon missions I suggest downloading a save file.
