We don't talk about Bob.
Amazing! That's why DD is my favorite game ever. :)
I understand where the beast went in the design (after reading this thread) but it's still dissatisfying.
I think the same way as Ducky. The thing is that the Heart Of Darkness. Is the weakest part of the un-named eldrich being. But even though it was the weakest part. It kills two heroes no matter what you do. One can say that the Darkest Dungeon itself is the monster. The way the thing is full of flesh, its like you go deeper into the being to destroy its weakest part. The literal heart, but it is still not good enough to kill it. Plus I didn't have a problem with the way it looks. I think its scary enough already.
The incohate flesh was creepier. The mammoth cysts are creepier. Hell, most of the lvl 3 dungeon monsters are more creepy, event he small ones because they're "incomprehensible" like the "growth" type monsters. The cultist priests are freaky as hell the first time you meet them and let's not even speak about the shambler/horror.
I just think they could have upped the visual design A LOT. Also, should have made it bigger than just 4 spaces. It's the final boss. (Yes, I know there are no other "size 4" enemies, but it still fits the normal system, and isn't "incomprehensible" enough.)
Oh well, opinions.
