How long does stress relief take?

In most cases, "Respite" takes one week. However, heroes may disappear for an extra few weeks on a whim, such as a hero going for 1-2 weeks of soul-searching after using the Cloister. If that happens, said hero will have a red "?" on their roster portrait, and the event will be mentioned in your weekly journal.

A week will pass via a completed/failed mission - as well as partially completed/failed missions, so long as a certain amount of progress was made before leaving.

Most veterans will avoid using respite facilities as much as possible via managing stress during dungeons, not after them. This will save you gold and prevents heroes from being decommissioned for 1-3 weeks.

Do note though, if your hero is Afflicted, you'll have to send them to some sort of recovery. Stress will, gradually get better on its own, but Afflictions won't.

Afflictions are removed at 0 stress, be it via dungeons, or waiting for it to passively decrease each week at the Hamlet.

Ahh.. didn't know that, fair enough.

Usually having an affliction makes hitting 0 stress impractical, however. Certainly more of a pain in the neck than just using the cloister.

just watch out for the antsy negative trait, trying to keep them happy can be more money and time then they are worth
