I'm not talking about backer trinkets or Abom(beast mode), it's straight cheating.
You miss a.... "synergy" conception - basic thingy for all "build-maker-nerd" :)
For example - dodge. Dodge it's very important for a... dodgers :) Like - houndmaster. BUT! if you use em for this - hes dont realy need ACC stat - because you'll spaming "guard" and self-heal skill 95% of all time.
On the other hand - leaper. he have problem with ACC (worst ACC stat for main attak in game) BUT! hes dont realy need dodge stat - because hes very fat... hes have power self-heal skil... and the main - he will never be a good dodger anyway!! Even if you give him camouflage cloack + pig boss trophy (+25 dodge from both) - anyway it's not enough. (houndmaster can have 100+)
So - focus on his .. role. Dont try get everything (it will not work anyway).

ACC stat... usualy it's not so important how it looks. Leper - it's an exception. Just.. on low lvl you dont realy need it - usualy you havnt a lot of "miss". On high lvl - better use debaff skill (minus to monster dodge + mark) because it give you much more proffit than trinkets.

DMG buff usualy better. ACC trinkets can give you... somethin like +5-8% to succesfull hit (IMHO... may be a bit more or less). DMG trinkets can give you +45% to dmg. Even if you miss sometimes - bonus DMG anyway gives more proffit to you.
Especialy if you use it right! Remember - SYNERGY! For example you take crusader (main bonus to DMG against unholy) + unholy hater + slagger + warior of light qurks + trinkets (ring + 20% dmg and one more +25% dmg) and going to ruins. Same for occultis for cave etc...
surgeon gloves - cheaper option if you havnt focus ring.... But agane - usualy DMG bonus better. On lvl 6 some of monsters have realy high dodge... so +5 to ACC (or even +10) anyway doesnt change a lot, and you must debaff em (-30 to dodge) if you want be sure about sucsesfull hit.
