My Occultist re-emerged from the depths 15 weeks after he sacrificed himself too ensure the escape of an Abomination and a Bounty Hunter as I had to flee from the first instance of the darkest dungeon.^^
Thought I lost that guy for good. And that really shook me.^^
Nope. It's completely randomized what heroes you can possibly get back from the dead so it's entirely possible your choices are three seeker level heroes rather than your higher leveled characters and if your roster is full you'll have to send one hero away in order to get the hero you want. I think someone also mentioned lost upgrades too but I don't know how true that is.
My Legend Occultist had no skills (not even the starting ones), nor armor and weapon upgrades. Only the quirks were still the same, I think. And he still had a disease...lol
The lack of skills is odd, but I guess you could justify the lack of equipment (lore wise), since it's likely that the hero's gear was heavily damaged/discarded when the hero died.
That could actually be pretty good if you have the chance to bring back a hero with one (or more) locked quirks.
Mind blown.
BTW, if reinauld or dismas are revived this way... Can you get the redemption achievement?
