Question regarding "Helping Hand(s)" event
Greetings.

As the title implies I request some insight/ideas regarding the Helping Hands town (or to be more specific, next quest) event. :stress:

Namely;

1. The removal of level restrictions aside, how does the event influence the xp-gain of higher leveled heroes? Namely, if I were to take three R5 and one R4 level hero to slay a boss I consider particularly difficult, would the "overleveled" heroes still gain the same amount of xp as if they were doing a dungeon of the same length on their appropriate level?

2. Considering that at this very moment I am at a point where there isn't much to be chosen in terms of - "I really want to throw my best team at this f+#$ing boss!" - what would YOU guys suggest doing?

Long runs, maybe torchless to train one or two specific heroes? For example, the antiquarian?

Stalking the shambler on a "lower difficulty" setting? If so, how could I go about increasing chances for spawning his curio, aside from doing a torchless run?

Tl;dr: I'm a noob, help pl0x.

Thanks in advance! Happy dying. :deadweight:

EDIT; for those interested in the general state of my game;

One batch of R5 heroes, several on R4/R3.

Hamlet is doing good (Abbey/Smith maxed, rest decent around 70%), but I refuse to enter champion dungeons until my guild has the last level of that instructor mastery - I consider that absolutely necessary for obvious reasons.

Try taking your lvl5 heroes into an apprentice dungeon and go shambler hunting. Just keep walking around at 0 light, you'll run into him eventually.

they will only get the same amount xp as lower lvl heros would, so progression is veeeeery slow then. Xp is tied to the quest youre doing.

If you are at a point where you have done all the bosses then there isn't too much use for it. You can maybe buff a lower level team with a dd survivor. If you have a bunch of level 1-2 heroes maybe do a veteran dungeon with your dd survivor and three level 1-2 heroes. As Francis said xp is tied to the quest level and length so bringing in high level heroes in a low level dungeon is just a waste of xp (and gold since lower level quests give less gold).

Long and torchelss is unessecary imo as you more than likely fill your inventory anyway with good value gems.

Alright, so after a good 40 minutes of crawling around in utter darkness and being hit by 4 unfortunate hunger events in a row before deciding to pull out, here are the results;

21k gold and roughly 20 heirlooms.

Sadly, despite full no torch run with my top notch team, the Shambler was apparently to afraid to face me. The Collector did though - quite unexpected meeting him outside Ruins - and was wiped in two turns.

Oh well, can't have it all I suppose.

Sorry for being not clear enough, but I meant I am not yet ready for DD and the current bosses I could face (for example Swine King) do not pose a threat to my roster on such a level that I would need to get my R5 team for it.

Thanks to all of you for your input. Happy hunting!

When youbget the event again, something cool I did was using 3 darkest dungeon chars (give 50% xp boost) and the anchestors portrait on one of my low level chars and then threw them all into a long veteran dungeon. Levelled the low level guy up to lvl5 in the one run.
