Floor 3 of DD

Ok, I feel like I did something wrong. Ater reading the guide, it said the Mammoth Cyst "Doesn't do much damage." WTF dungeon was the guy in that wrote that? It was hitting me for 20+ multiple times, often times two characters at once. Lets not talk about crits.

So anyways, I understand you get it down some (for me I actually had to kill it nearly every time I fought it) and then the stalk teleports you. I know where I am supposed to go, but I fought the thing a dozen times and could never get to the teleport room. Every time I got close, I'd run into the Cyst/Stalk and get teleported (sometimes when I wasn't even close). Closest I got was 1 room away. I fought him AT LEAST a dozen times. I was not taking extraneous paths or anything. I had the map, I knew right where to go.

Questions:
1. Is it usual to have to kill it to get it to teleport? I mean, many of the fights I had to kill it completely AND the stalk before I got teleported. From what I read, the stalk would teleport the party at some point when it was damaged, not kill the dang thing over and over.
2. Is it usual to have 12+ fights with the boss before getting to the quest room? I mean...I was constantly at deaths door and eventually lost a character so I bailed so as not to lose the whole party.
3. Is it usual to have such a HUGE miss rate in floor three? My misses were off the chart. Like 200% of what I normally get.
4. Did I do something wrong, or just horrible luck?

Wish I would have videoed that run. It was insane! Fortunately I just lost a Vestal (but I have 2 more) and a Jester (which no way in hell am I'm bringing again).

Oh jeeze. I wasn't killing the Stalk. I was leaving it up the whole fight. I thought you weren't supposed to attack it. Now that I read a few more threads, I realize you're supposed to kill it lol.

The stalk has a small % chance to teleport you after turn 1. This % chance increases with each passing turn and the % chance doesn't reset when it dies.

A well prepared/experienced player should only have 6 fights. 2 Cyst fights, 3 trash mob fights, and 1 baby templar.

This is probably the easiest DD mission. Hellion & PD makes the Cyst fights laughable. And your first mistake was using Jester ()

If you have bad acc you'll sometimes get a long string of misses. Try keeping your acc >85%.

Don't worry about not finishing off a cyst. They don't heal in between fights but there are multiple instances of them. If you can choose which to return to return to one that you already fought.

I prepared myself also by watching a let´s play video and reading the wiki and nevertheless - or maybe because of reading the wiki - got surprised in fight. This third run really can be an epic battle, especially with a not really opimized party. I think you had not many chances with a jester from the beginning.

After the second fight in dd which was no problem at all I enjoyed it a lot to come along this challenge. Only 6 fights? I think I was teleported alone to five entrances all of them containing enemies on both of my missions. It´s nearly a little bit of disappointing this epic mission is easy as well if you know how to play it and exactly where to go.

For me it was an epic battle even the second time and I could have lost again easily. But it was fun playing this mission. I would not have really bothered to fail again, not too much at least.

You have enough vestals and there a lot of team combinations you can send in proberly. I do not worry that you will do it.

Bring a plague doctor and stunlock the cyst and the cell, kill the cell each turn and then the cyst will only use his summon ability, it become a long fight this way but very safe

Yah, I just beat it the 2nd time around now that I understood things better. AND I had much better luck. I didn't get teleported a single time and I got crit WAY less. Plague Doctor was a massive advantage. I went Hellion, Crusader, Plague Doctor, Vestal. My Hellion had +5 Acc quirk and my Crusader had the +Dmg/Acc vs. Eldritch quirk. Never hit deaths door on any characters and never got above 50% stress on any characters. Time to take break! Damn this game is stressful lol.

Nothing can prevent you now from finishing the campaign. Just do not underestimate the last fight. I lost Reynauld doing it. But I got the achivement "lone survivor. If you do not have all trinkets - you can go back to the dungeons after the last fight as well. Maybe this would be a reason for me going on with the save file sometime.

By now I like my NG+ file. No reason for rage-quitting so far. I´m dismissing lot´s of heroes what I did not do my first run at all and go for much more risks to save up time and to reach as fast as possible the medium dungeons. They are more profitable for farming I hope. It is a different game feeling with complete different strategie.

You have to make up your plans for the time after victory as well, soon, I guess.

Yah, I just finished floor 4 and beat the game. Have to say, floor 4 was probably the easiest of all of them. Floor 3 was the hard one. Floor 4 I brought Hellion, Highwayman, Houndmaster, Vestal. Equipped everyone with at least -20% stress damage. Some had -40%-45%. As long as your characters don't get stressed out, it's quite easy. Doubt I'll play NG+. I don't really like time constraints. Everything else about NG+ is fine, but one aspect of the game I love most is farming and getting the perfect characters with the perfect quirks, so NG+ really takes a lot of that way. I mean hell, I was in week 204 when I beat the game this time lol. Going to play again for sure, but just a regular game, using the stuff I know now and with a bit more class variety.
