The level restriction for doing quest is kinda dumb.
I love this game, but the fact that your adventurers wont do missions that are lower level than them is kinda dumb. I get the game is suppose to be hard, but this seem like the game is specifically going out of its way to make the game needlessly difficult. I wish instead of outright stopping us from doing lower level quest with our adventures they would let us do it, but the adventures would get less exp from them or something like that.

Yeah I know you can change it, I have a mod for it. Im just saying its kinda dumb to be there in the first place.

You could get endless gold without any risk if it wasn't there. So that's why it's there.

There's also mods for it on the workshop, but imo it just makes the game a bit easier which I tend to avoid.

There's also Radiant mode. Radiant mode will let characters go into dungeons one level lower than they normally would, so characters up to L4 can go into apprentice dungeons and any character can go into veteran dungeons. IMO that's really the biggest difference between Radiant and Darkest, so if that's the only change you're looking for, just play Radiant.

It's there so that you can't cheese the game by just endlessly doing basic quests with level 6 heroes to farm infinite gold, infinite heirlooms, and farm Shamblers with no difficulty. It does make sense, because it keeps you from just breaking the game's progression.

If you think about it, the game is full of these restraints that force you into difficult situations or decicions, you might find it dumb, but without these restrictions the game would be without challenge.
It´s like a boardgame, the rules aren´t there to create a believable world, they are there to create a challenge for you to overcome.

The problem is that you're unable to prepare your heroes when they lvl up too fast for your managment. Not fully upgraded for their current lvl skills, armour, weapons. Ending up with a hero who is far too weak for higher lvl dungeons that they are forced to go

Then there is lack of Vestals for lower lvl heroes.

This is a real problem, especially in the early game. You generally don't have the heirlooms to upgrade your guild and blacksmith at the pace your heroes level, and even if you do, you probably also don't have the gold to pay for those upgrades. Just keep recruiting fresh heroes, dismiss others if you have to. Hold on to your favorites, but anyone that you don't need to keep, don't.

Aye, ´tis another challenge to overcome, just like limited inventory space, only getting to pick two trinkets and four skills per character, random hunger checks and the fact that you can only bring four heroes on a quest.

It's not like lvl 1 quests disappear though? I'm on week 67 in my current file and I certainly do not lack for lvl 1 quests to take my newbies on. Don't focus on one team to the point of outleveling your upgrades, you'll be sod out of luck if one of them dies.

Still waiting to see a 'problem' in this thread that can't be resolved simply by a tweak in playstyle or swapping to Radiant. Sounds to me like people are sticking to a 'wonder team' (or worse, 1-2 favourite heroes), zooming them past everyone else and shooting themselves in the foot.

I also wish they could of created a more thematic reason for not letting higher level adventures do lower level quest rather than just, "This quest is beneath me."

You can do this in Radiant Mode. The restrictions both below and above hero levels is much more lenient, including Darkest Dungeon restrictions. If you went straight to Darkest mode thinking that was 'normal' difficulty, you'd be wrong - it's pretty much the same difficulty as Radiant, except Radiant has a few time-saving benefits to keep it shorter / less grindy.

Darkest is how it was intended to be played. Those restrictions aren't dumb just because you don't like them. It is all there for a reason and no amount of thematics or preferences will change them.

You are not meant to carry your level 0-2's in Apprentice using Vet/Champion-level heroes. You are not meant to repeatedly visit the Darkest Dungeon with debuffed heroes. You are meant to be punished for trying to 'boost' lowbies in higher dungeons, because that's the only reason why you'd do it, and why those were made more lenient in Radiant mode.

All of these water down an already easy game by providing you super-easy gold/heirloom farm, easy resolve XP, easy methods of grinding trinkets, bypassing the stress system and reducing danger immensely.

If you want to do that stuff, start over in Radiant -- though it seems you've gotten mods to do this for you and reduce the challenge even more.

Shame, because the game is easy enough as it is.

yeah you are right, the game was never challenging, its just unpredictable and inconvenient. You cant ever really lose and the darkest mode, at most you'll just face some set backs. In my opinion I just don't think that restricting basic player actions like deciding on who they want to take on a quest is a good way to balance the game.
