Curios? How do you know what item is needed?
Is there something i'm missing? Are there ways to tell which item is needed for each one other than looking at wiki every time run across new one? I lost my phone and tabbing out of game hurts immersion

Another Question. I noticed the Antiquarian has hidden abilities to gather more gold? Does this show in the game? Are there other heroes with hidden abilities?

Either just run through every consumable on them or spoil yourself on the wiki, up to you. I went through and did the former, but other than purism there's no real reason to subject yourself to such torture and wasted time.

If you do the first, most items suggest themselves, for instance, but some are ridiculous.

Two super spoilers.

For instance, torching a pile of scrolls is great and zaps a bad quirk, but torching a pile of books just gives you a massive stress bomb.

And one that you would nearly never get randomly.

Wine crates in the Crimson Court if you apply a shovel to them gives you a pile of firewood, the only way you can camp in CC missions. Would you ever guess that without just randomly throwing every object at every curio? Didn't think so.

Okay thanks I'll just keep using the wiki until I memorize them.
to be fair

to be fair, for a guy who grill/bbq at my summerhouse, wine barrels are sometimes used :)

After you successfuly used correct item for curio. The game remember and will show small symbol under your items when you interact them with curios.
Question mark - unknown result
X mark - no effect
gold mark - to get gain loot
white mark - sanity effect on curio
green mark - heal effect on curio

Some get alternate effects depending on the item. Locked sarcophagus needs a key, but if you only have a shovel it will give a lesser bonus. Giant clam gets pried open with a shovel, but if you have Hound master dog treats it'll give you a dodge bonus instead.

You can just use your big brain and make a few connections.
The text usually gives 80% of the combinations away. If not, look at the grafic.

Looks sharp? bandages
Looks old or sick? Herbs
Does it have green stuff coming out of it? Antidote
Does it literally say "Put torch here to kill yourself"? Keep walking

Same with the Antiquarian. The caretaker tells you what she does when you recuit her.

Do you really have the game to force pause and show a textbox labled "TUTORIAL: Hit enemys till they die"?

This isn't even a joke. Everyone who hates this game for "bad RNG" puts a torch into the Killbox and whines about rng unfairly killing him. Search it on youtube, it's insane.

I found my phone!!! lol thanks all these comments were helpful. The only RNG I get annoyed with is not getting a 2nd vestal before my first one is ready to have a heart attack.
