Apprentice vs Seeker

Total noob, so please bear with me. I've searched the wiki and forums for an explanation of the difference between the two suffixes, but can't find it.

Can someone please point me in the right direction for an explanation, else let me know by response ? While starting with apprentice characters, I see all the ones arriving in the stage coach are 'seekers'. Is this an upgrade ? ie should I replace the apprentice characters with seeker ones early on ? One or two stats for the seekers are higher than the the apprentice stats and I can't immediately see any that are lower - so while everything else in the game seems to be understandable, else can quickly find explanations through research, I'm still scratching my head on this one thing.

seeker is level 0 and apprentice is level 1 right? if so apprentice is better, look at the number on the crest on the hero rooster the higher the number the higher the level it goes 0,1,2,3,4,5,6. edit:googled it and seeker is indeed level 0 so apprentice is better

also resistances to everything expect deaths door increase and you can upgrade their skills and equipment as they level up. the stat increase you saw was probaly from a quirk.

Seeker= lvl 0
Apprentice= lvl 1
Adventurer= lvl 2
Veteran= lvl 3
Master= lvl 4
Champion= lvl 5
Legend= lvl 6
