Why i got a red questionmark in hero's portrait?

Sometimes after cure in town(tavern, flagelletion, abbet etc.) you cant use your hero. you have some % chanse to have this.

My hero went for three week journey once

It is supposed to be random events, but Red Hook nerfed it into oblivion after complaints. Back in EA/early vanilla they would disappear for weeks to go on pilgrimages or get wasted and gamble away your trinkets in the casino during these absences. Occasionally something positive would happen, but usually it was all bad.
Now it's basically just a question mark and you get them back the following week. Yay, nerfs!

when i was young

we used to play darkest dungeon with heavy stone clubs

kids these days r too soft

but real talk what did stuff like that add to gameplay

remove nostalgia glasses and pick up stone club

put down stone club pick up cheesy poof

quality of life has improved

and now stygian and mods for those that want harder experience

Read the event log (it's the scroll). It means they're not available, but it at least gives you flavor text as to why.

It basically just means whatever stress relief you sent them to is going to take two weeks instead of one.

Usually it's just something like they got blackout drunk and they have a hangover.
