Why do people hate the RNG so much?
So, believe it or not it was actually the negative reviews that sold me on the game, simply because of how much RNG is involved.

At first, I was a little skeptical. The game looked interesting, but not to the point where I was down to buy it. Then the sale came along at the right time and here I am.

But one thing that's always bugged me is that people don't like the RNG part of the games. To that I raise this question. If there's no RNG, what makes your game anything different than a graphically glorified formula, just plug in the right strategy/equipment/items and win?

I LOVE the RNG aspect. Because unlike other games, I can't just chow down, smash every pot and barrel, and slam my way through the dungeon because I have the right combo.

Unlike other games, I can't just load up a warrior/mage/rogue/extra load out and win every time. No matter how well I play, ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan.

And I LOVE that. You HAVE to fail sometimes, you have to know when to give up. It's what makes the game interesting.

Oh and I LOVE the challenging aspect of it too. I'm getting rekt 9n the easiest difficulty. It's awesome!

I have weird taste though. For challenge.

Pretty much this, people are so used to running everything through without losing anything, losing in games suddenly feels like they've been personally insulted. This is most apparent with games like XCOM and Darkest Dungeon. Better just to ignore them and enjoy the game at your own leisure.
"why"

"why not"

life's questions answered

you're welcome
The number one thing that causes players to vent their anger is the fact that your heroes are a RESOURCE. A lot of people can't wrap their head around using "people" or "heroes" as a resource. You're going to lose heroes, you're going to fire heroes, but what people don't like doing is investing time into that hero, rolling ♥♥♥♥ perks and going "whelp this was a waste of time".

That and the RNG thing, people don't understand that 95-99% still means a 1-5% error chance and that STATISTCALLY missing 9 95% can happen...it's not likely, but it can and DOES happen. People aren't good at rolling with punches or improvising on the spot, which in an RNG based game you have to do.
