so i have a fundamental total mad idea:
you implemented mods asap after getting the steam version? if yes have you tryed if you "bugs" (read: self induced problems by using mods) also happen when you started the steam version as a fresh vanilla install (read: unmodded at all)
No, I didn't get the steam version to install mods that don't run with the gog version.
The GOG version has a more limited list of skins available because it doesn't have a workshop function like steam does and GOG versions skins often have to be installed manually. I don't use mods that alter game functionality, only skins.
I tried a fresh reinstall of DD without any skins or mods installed with the steam version. It crashes with skins and without them.
The GOG version runs perfectly with skins from Nexus and without them. I have written this in my first post.
I started this thread to come up with solutions to the problem, which includes reading what I wrote and not posting smartass remarks in horrible English that don't suggest any solutions.
But even then, no, I got to the hamlet and then installed the skins if you think that changes anything.
"that don run with the gog version." "that don't run with the gog version." You've missed the qualifying statement twice from two different people. There's another qualifying statement where he makes a distinction in his use of words for skins vs mods that impact game function (ie not cosmetic). He got the steam version to streamline the distinct use of cosmetic skin mods and not for mods that impact gameplay or don't run on GOG as he explains he uses skin mods on GOG but has to manually install them.
Champ, come on, it was the second half of my post I don't see how it's so hard for you to parse that.
Him : "Hey, I just got new sneakers because I like to run but doing it barefoot shreds my feet"
You : "Wow this guy got shoes because he can't run."
Me : "Actually no, he already was running but he got shoes specifically because they make it better and easier for him to run."
You : "Wow this guy got shoes because he can't run."
You're missing half the pieces in the puzzle.
That dude is a troll, thanks for the idea, I'l look at the antivirus.
