Has nothing to do with DLC, the balance patch changed a *lot* of things so most mods broke. Read the pinned thread.
Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe it will be fine one the modder update all of their mods.
It's hard to say.
However, you get to play the game more. I think you'll be okay.
Also that a new save is recommended but not required for Color; it doesn't work 100% as intended in an old save.
The last time my save file was corrupted, I couldn't finish a single quest without a black screen of death, returning to town with no loot or advancement. Empty stage coach ensured I'd never be able to get more heroes - same goes with this issue.
I only hope that they fix it. The fact that I cannot roll back means I could lose hundreds of hours of gameplay, which is quite frustrating.
The thing is it is difficult to determine what and how much each mod changed and how much is incompatible with the official game changes.
You also stated that you use many mods, so that complicates the problem exponentially. It is truly difficult to say. I suggest you start a new file.
I mean, it's just the stage coach/merchant cart switch problem, everything else works fine. The only conflicting thing I could see would be my character rebalance mods.
Just deactivate whatever mod you're using.
"They" don't have anything to fix. If anything, the mod creators who will update their mods to support the latest version of the game may fix things. You were warned. There is a stickied thread regarding it. Beyond that it should be obvious by now that running the latest version of the game with out of date mods will break things.
If you're going to complain, complain about yourself.
