can someone explain vestal's lore to me?

vestal and PD are one of my favorite characters, and I would like to know more about vestal's lore and, no you don't nead to explain her comic to me:
she just got yealed at/punished for looking at painting of man and a woman.

and also I found out that in DD's community ppl say that she is a little bit ho*ny, why? where theory like that came from?

Her Salacious Diary is a good start for that rumour. Plus a lot of her dialogue suggests that she is often ogled at or made fun of for her body/virginity/interests whatever, in extremely defensive ways.

Also, look at her comic again - it wasn't a painting she got distracted by and let the Holy Flame go out: it was an actual couple having a bit of fun in the grounds near the temple/church/whatever.

So she's:

A) Sexually repressed.
B) Punished for both voyeurism and letting the symbol of her religion go out.
