crashes

Game keeps crashing when embarking. I get a message saying that some animatiomn file can't be read. If I reload and use the same party it doesn't crash. Is there a memory leak?

Same for me. Sometimes even before embarking.

I'm having a similiar experience. I would embark and it would crash on the loading screen. At first, I thought it would happen on boss levels only. Switched up between other dungeons and party members and it eventually just stopped working all together.



I've reinstalled, verified files, disabled Steam Overaly. I've seen on other threads that people started having problems since the last patch. Maybe its best to wait it out til next patch?

Do you have an anti virus program running by any chance?

I've had the same problem because my Norton started to false flag files from the game as Trojan files.

Did some research, and it's not the first time it's happend with this game. Apparently Red Hook ♥♥♥♥♥ up with their updates from time to time and makes the Anti Virus freak out.

Good job Red Hook, you're the first dev ever in all my years of gaming who have managed to do this.

I fixed it by going into Norton and having it put the files back where it found them. Fixed the problem right away.

Thank you for being the only person to say anything usefull on this topic. Almost every other thread has been "Yeah don't use norton"

Yeah, I use Norton. Wish it had a better menu setup for restoring files.

I don't know what they did, but the last hotfix is full of bugs, I can't load my save anymore http://imgur.com/R4isAtO and the steam workshop uploader is broken too, can't update an existing mod or create a new one http://imgur.com/HEhrJu6

Norton is the issue here though, finding false positives everywhere if nothing has gone wrong. Even the AV buries itself down in random applocale folders if deleted with reminders for reinstallation. All that have reported the problem in discussion have been using it so far as I can see.

Verify files, repair if needed, redownload. Whitelist the game on any AV, have you tried those?

I have similar issues, the game crashes on a loading screen. I fear my save file is ruined (again). I have nothing like Norton running in the background, I hope the next update will fix that - or should I start all over and maybe backup my save files once in a while before embarking on Courtyard missions/boss missions (since it seems to happen only in these cases)?

Hmm... I strated a new game and haven't had a single crash. Did Norton or DD update to end their nonsense?
