Death of an Art Style
With so many hero mods being published, its refreshing to see Marvins work. I wish i could say the same for the rest. Alot of these new heroes (while are impressive) really do not fit the DD atmosphere. Their either super sexulaized or just anime. Is this truly the end of this workshop before ir devolves into degeneracy?

Dude, you for real? There's like.. I can count that many 'sexualized anime' mods on my hands. The rest are largely ones that at the least fit the artstyle. Could you quit committing fearmongering over here? Fearmongering over something so small, too. Let people be people, it's what mods are for - to customize a game to your tastes.

i think some people's problem is less just the art style, and mor eht eimmersion breaking of a petite, yet well endowed women wearing nothing but a shawl of modesty and wielding a giant ass tusk while tanking enemies. in a game of such blood and gore it makes absolutely no sense for a skinny naked woman to be tanking hits from giant spiders and eldritch horrors. you can say that we should just not download the mods, but when they often appear right above the news section when you go to launch the game it kinda lingers and ruins the atmosphere, it also makes it annoying to find "serious" skins amok the almost exponentially growing "sexy ---- skin"s

It doesn't make much sense for a guy in a leather coat to be up front taking hits from spiders and monsters from Cthulhu's dreams, either, to be honest. But it's fine - even if clothes don't really withstand getting torn up to shreds normally. You'd also probably notice that the Tusk you're referring to iiiisn't quite as unprotected as you'd think - the ram she wields keeps her lower body pretty free of attack, I'd imagine, and IIRC there's some metal buckle thing on her torso. Not all of the torso, but considering where she performs best.. plus, it's atleast elaborated on in the Guild that she chose it as a personal choice in spite of everything going on around her. She's cocky and headstrong, and it shows. Now, if they were just dropped in with no explanation or attempt to make them blend in with the general art style - you'll notice the aforementioned Tusk doesn't clash too much in-game - I'd see a bigger point to all this.. But I don't.

It's really depressing how many people there are willing to go to bat for softcore porn mods.

You know, that's fine and all, but I think it's more depressing to see just how many people are willing to jab at people that put hard work into personally drawing, writing for, and planning for just because it happens to expose a natural part of the human body in a way they might not like more than another. I also take offense to the sheer revulsion towards the freedom of choice of doing what one likes with a game they bought with their cash.

Just live and let live, and give some new things a try - you never know, you might love how something fits in with your team setup.

I thought this was a good christian game!
Violence, despair, and monsterous creatures are okay, but tiddies are the last straw man.
These sinners who keep making these mods will be punished for their sins!
I absolutely refuse to simply ignore these mods and not download them! I will be the champion of all that is clean and pure!.

The "natural part of the human body" argument doesn't hold water here; we're not talking about the human body au naturel, we're talking about carefully arranged fetish models. I mean, hell, there are cool things you could do just making a buck naked character, like a "wild man/woman" archetype. Nudity does not have to automatically imply eroticism. But... you're not fooling anybody here. Someone put a lot of hard work into personally drawing, writing for, and planning these classes for the express purpose of titillation.

And, I mean, hell. Porn is porn. It's not a big deal. I'd like to think there's a time and place for everything, but ultimately, if someone decides that the time and place to get their rocks off to anime tits is in the middle of a Darkest Dungeon sesh, that's their business. You do you, and I'll just keep scrolling past. Just don't pretend that your erotic Darkest Dungeon mods are there for any reason other than pure eroticism.
I'd agree that that was their sole purpose if they were carbon copies, underpowered, or overpowered. However, they each have styles that they fit into and such.

And yes, what they do is their business and they should be free to do what they want without some idiot screaming negative things at them. I think we're in agreement on the core issue here.
Remember that time I saw dumb, unfunny meme mods and made threads about how they ruin the game and will flood the workshop if left unchecked? Oh wait, I didn't do that. Instead I just shook my head in disgust a little and then proceeded to ignore them. We all got things we dislike. Doesn't mean we should call for a holy crusade to wipe 'em out.

Unless it's wasps. My hatred for them rivals my parents' disappointment in me.

Wasps are the real scourge of humanity. We should turn our efforts towards those.

And tiny rat-dogs.

Hmm. Perhaps if they find these sorts of discussions personally distasteful they could ignore them. I seem to recall that being suggested as an option for dealing with things you disapprove of.

A modder/artist would actually be doing the community a great service by making skins for the most popular naked female anime heroes that have appeared on the workshop. Skins that are clothed and palette/aesthetic matched to the rest of DD.

I think the mechanics are cool but I don't need to see huge, pale knockers bouncing around as I explore and fight.

Whatever happened on preserving the artstyle? Ive never said the classes themselves were bad. I just said the way they were handled really just invites other modders to do the same. Exalus mods keep the artstyle while creating unique designs, i dont wanna see the 10th sexy plague docter skin in a row

Don't download the mods then, the art will then be kept in it's original state and is preserved with no unwanted additions.

Problem solved.
