I killed him in my first attempt with 2 level 0s and 2 level 1s so it's definitely doable
but no crusaders, no lepers, etc. etc. go for an all rank party. and i would avoid mark synergy parties since the two turns of the crocodilian negates a lot of the possible damage from marking.
Flagellant makes it really hard to lose assuming he consistently gets attacked by the Croc.
Killed in first run.
If noone else needs healing, he can also do a move that hits position 1/2 and heals himself for the same amount, whilst applying a fairly massive bleed to whatever he hits.
Combine these abilities with the trinket that gives him 33% healing skill boost, as well as the fact that he gets boosted by his unique stress affliction (+dmg, -dodge), and you'll find he can carry you through some nasty fights with no deaths.
Antiquarian was able to blight the croc because my existing save was pretty late-game so I have a ton of nice trinkets. Tossed the hag's ladle and blight stone on her which allowed me to stack blight despite Croc's resistance, which made my Antiquarian not completely useless during the boss battle.
Vestel kept people alive and was able to use Judgement on croc for damage/self heal. Bounty Hunter was in charge of stunning (brings croc from 2 turns to 1) as well as pulling and dishing out damage. Grave Robber was able to hit Croc no matter where he was.
These were the only guys I had low level enough to toss them into the Courtyard, party composition wasn't the best but I still managed to do it. He wasn't that hard for me.
Obviously, I don't recommend bringing an Antiquarian, but everyone else was pretty solid. I just had no other option since I was late-game and only had 4 party members eliglble for this mission.
