Only three percent of players have beaten the game
So after I 'won' I see the stats on the achievement and it is sorta disheartening. So what this means to me is that people say they want a challenge and are hardcore but 97% don't see it through, barely half even play more than 10 quests and only a quarter have even raised a hero to lvl 6.
So what, people just would rather watch some vaping heart attack target play thru it badly on youtube? Should the game be easier? I don't understand.

This is nothing out of the ordinary for steam. Tons of people just buy games and then never even open them.

Also Why care if only 3% of people beat the game? Doesn’t mean it should be easier just means people couldn’t push through

Has more to do with length than anything else.

34% of Dark Souls players haven't picked up the estus.

Less than 10% have beaten FF7.

Lol. I have roughly 300 hours and never followed through beating the game...

I think i racked up around 100 hours offline myself. Never could bring myself to beating the game though maybe its cause i've already seen everything through streams /vids while playing it. Still loved the game . You dont really need to properly finish a game like this anyways since it has the bare minimum of story and most of it is just the grind of getting there which is still plenty fun. Now Trails of Cold Steel 3 on the other hand... i really should get back to finishing that before CS 4 comes out

I might be mis-remembering, but doesn't adjusting the difficulty options (e.g. disabling corpses) prevent the achievement from becoming unlocked? So the number of people who did in fact beat the game may actually be higher.

Pretty normal for a game that is 90% RNG for people that play it and 90% skill for people that don't, but like to say that it's skill based so they can feel special.

I dont think so as using mods wont effect achievements

You're right, I was thinking specifically about the Strict Mode achievement, but that's separate from the game completion achievements

Er, what?

Why would anyone be disheartened? It's entirely normal.

People being gifted games, getting it as part of Humble Bundles, or even buying it with intent to play it and not seeing it through (not enough time, big backlog of other games, etc), not to mention god knows what other reasons (such as the fact that most steam games are also available off-steam or playable offline or playable cross-platform). People who resort to achievement percentages or 'currently playing' figures are using a pretty skewed number.

I believe I got to week 150 (after repeated fresh starts) and even deleted that save before bothering to complete it for the first time. I'd say I finally made an effort at around the 100-300hr mark before the new DLC started to roll in.

Naw, the juice of the game is exploring rooms, overcoming encounters, and seeing how much loot you can bring back. The end-game is a departure from collecting loot, and is more of an endurance match to see whether you can get your guys through to the conclusion.

It kinda reminds me of the Dungeon of Dredmor, where (again) the fun was in the exploration, looting, and overcoming monsters, but not the actual end-game encounter with Dredmor.

In terms of improved gameplay, the freeform dungeon exploring in the Crimson Court is a step up, except that dealing with your guys being infected with the crimson curse is about three steps back.

I refrained from buying Crimson Court DLC because I could foresee what a pain the crimson curse was (i.e., detracting from the gameplay).

I admit, I watched guide on how to beat the final dungeon. Actually imo, the game is not that hard on normal difficulty, it’s just time consuming.
