1. they do admit they do know each other. They just say klei didnt work on DD, which there is no proof of anyway.
2. they were invited to ONE interview for this flawed network, hardly any connection.
3. the conflict of interest was caused by the interviewer, bc she didnt bother to fully disclose the financial relationship to the company ONE of the people working at klei also is part of, which isnt really a matter of COI bc this is about a patreon support and not real payment. To not disclose this is perfectly legal.
4. You dont have to disclose a relationship if you are just friends and helping each other, supporting each other bc you are friends is absolutely fine, as long as there is no cash involved, which there is no sodding proof of.
