Is rabies worth getting?
The increased damage has allowed me to increase the damage of a ranged class of a low rank higher than a crusader of high rank.

The ACC penalty is pretty bad.

It's still the last disease I remove if I have multiples.

It's actually okay in endless, where the ACC penalty is obliterated by repetitions of Jester's Battle Ballad.

It's ok if you can balance it out with accuracy trinkets, are relying on a party that buffs accuracy anyway (Jester, Man-At-Arms) or for hitting enemies that are not dodging anyways.

It's not worth getting because dogs are the only thing which reliably give rabies, they don't target who you want them to target, and their disease chance is a mere 10%. 7% after resistances.

If you get rabies, it can be worth not removing it until you get a second disease. Because this:
Standard focus ring: +10 acc +5 crit
Rabies focus ring: +15 dam +5 crit.

Though as per the other posters, you'll want another source of +acc. Another strong trinket, a high-level jester, overlevelled skills, or having high base accuracy. MAAs command is too slow; even after rabies it's better to just hit things with him.

I'm of the opinion that you're better off without any of them. Yes, damage is nice, but you're just replacing a boost to X with a need for more Y (Y typically being more important until stacked to an appropriate level).

I'm no number cruncher but I do know you can do perfectly fine without it and much prefer not having to add more to consider when I 'could' just slap on a trinket I want instead.

Would rather go without them, but have found that they certainly help me get over the PROT hump some of the Weald's bestiary carries when they're forced on me. Between my two runs so far, only Hollow Knights and Bounty Hunters have really been screwed by the ACC RNG due to them.

Don't aim to get it, but if you do it's usually not a top-priority cure-before-the-dude-dies disease, unless it's the Leper who got it, then S H I T
